The area of Cotobato in the Philippines has a history of civil unrest, terrorism, and abject poverty.  While visiting this area I did not see any civil unrest or terrorism but I did meet lots of cool people, see lots of cool places, and saw some amazing nature.  Due to this area's reputation the prices here are ridiculously low and you can do so many things while barely spending any money.  Great experience, great place, and great people!!!
